The future is here
MY GOAL FOR THIS PROJECTMy goal was to design and create an environmentally friendly and long term sustainable economically feasible house. This will be achieved by adding solar panels that can fulfil electricity, water and thermal issues. This will eventually cut down on cost and therefore increase the revenue and profits. I chose this topic due to my personal experience.
I know how much electricity, water and sewage usage cost in the United Arab Emirates. I wanted to find a reasonable alternative that could be affordable for everyone. The UAE has a very hot and high climate therefore I realized that the sun would be the perfect resource to exploit. It was a renewable resource and was a resource that could be easily be accessible.

AdvantagesThe weathers serve as an advantage because most months the UAE has sunny weather and the solar panels will work throughout the year. In the UAE, there is a lack of rain which reduces the maintenance cost (Shown in the finance). With the addition o the solar panels it would also assist in other task furthering the advancement is in technology. Solar Panels reduce your main electricity bills, water healing bills and electronic heating. Finally it promotes more renewable options for a more sustainable future for new generations.
|
Dis-AdvantagesThe major dis-advantages to solar panels are the starter cost and professional assistance when inputting and connecting the solar panels to the houses. There are also month to month maintenance to keep the solar panels functional. It is weather dependent so a back up generator is always needed. In countries like the UAE weather distress is a main problem. Solar Panels also take up a lot of space on your house and can be associated with air pollution, releasing smaller amounts of carbon emission.

WHY THIS PROJECT?I have always been a keen enthusiast when it comes to renewable energy. I have read a lot about harnessing water from the atmosphere, using solar energy and also building cities using green concepts to conserve scarce and limited resources. In a place like Dubai, where sunlight is in abundance, I wanted to put myself to the test and create something that, in future could be a way forward. I have a keen interest in the economic advantages of using renewable and sustainable resources. This project I knew will be a challenge. However, since my passion is strong for green technology, I wanted push myself and build a solar powered house. This project would benefit me in two ways. It would encourage me to think out of the box and get a deeper insight into the global, sustainable and economic impact of green energy technology.
