Globalization and Sustainability
The global context I chose was Globalization and sustainability.
The reason for choosing this was the fact that in today’s world, through economic and social reasons along with diplomatic and economic dependencies, globalization is the only way forward. As our borders open and International communities expand, a lot of stress is put on the perishable resources of planet earth. It is apparent that there is an urgent need for stronger economic policies and research in clean and green energy. This will aid in the sustainability of the limited natural resources needed by an ever-increasing population.

Product Linked To Global ContextI chose the Global Context ‘Globalization and Sustainability’, so staying on topic I decide to use renewable material. Instead of using wood, I use recycled cardboard and the furniture that was highlight on my criteria, were made with paper. Due to the existing pandemic and doing distance learning, I used recycled material to construct my house. Besides, this I used home tools and resources too. I constructed the house in the confines of my room, at home. I used cardboard which I acquired from box of drinking water. The roof was with a stronger cardboard material, to hold the solar batteries, which I stuck on.
As for the furniture, I crafted it with plastics and paper, using videos from you tube [Origami] and other material gathered from the house. All this was done keeping in mind my understanding of the global context “Globalization and Sustainability”. My focus was the utilization of a renewable resource, like the Sun (Solar energy). This immense and abundant resource can be used to generate electricity by converting solar energy into electric energy |

Globalization
My Global Context chosen was ‘Globalization and Sustainability’. Through my product, I wanted to highlight the effect of globalization on sustainability. We have been negligent in using the scarce resources. Scarcity and global warming were the result. Renewable energy using solar panels are a way to sustain and protect our valuable resources. We need to innovate for the future and preserve our natural resources
Sustainability
Sustainability was linked with the utilization of renewable resource (solar energy) to generate electricity for the house. This was achieved by converting light energy (Sun) into electrical energy (circuit board) to create light from the bulbs in the house. To create the circuit, I had to remodel a solar panel which I bought. I had to cut around the panel to reveal the circuit and battery. I used a AAA size rechargeable battery. The wires from the solar cell was connected to a transistor, which is a semi-conductor used to switch electric power. One wire connects to the resistor. A resistor is made of tungsten. This helps convert electrons into light. After production I had read over my criteria I wrote at the start and realized I had met all my expectations.
